General Mills First to Adopt New Worksite Pharmacist Program

To combat the growing complexity of drug therapies and improve use of medications, General Mills, is the first employer to offer on-site access to a new individualized care program through Medication Management Systems, Inc. (MMS).

Participants access MMS’s pharmaceutical care delivery system where a specially trained pharmacist evaluates their personal medication experience. The pharmacist then implements a personalized care plan in order to identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems. Pharmaceutical care is delivered to participants in face-to-face interactions with a pharmacist on-location at General Mills’ headquarters facility or in the community via MMS’s Pharmaceutical Care Practice Network. Alternatively, participants may elect to receive care from a pharmacist in MMS’s Pharmaceutical Care Call Center.

One of the world’s leading food companies, General Mills operates in over 100 countries and markets more than 100 consumer brands, including Cheerios, HAagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, Progresso, Cascadian Farm, Muir Glen, and more. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A., General Mills had FY2008 global net sales of US$14.9 billion, including the company’s $1.2 billion proportionate share of joint venture net sales.
