Walther Farms Donates Truckload of Potatoes to Feed The Children for Upcoming Food Distribution in Elkhart

Feed The Children is proud to announce Walther Farms, based out of Three Rivers, Michigan, is donating a truckload of potatoes that will be distributed to area families. The donation is 4,400 bags of potatoes.

Walther Farms has extensive operations in Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Mexico.

Feed The Children is responding to the plight of Michiana residents left jobless by the deteriorating RV industry, and will deliver 13 semi tractor-trailers filled with food and personal care items to help sustain 5,200 families on March 10.

Elkhart, Indiana is the second of many cities on the “Americans Feeding Americans Emergency Caravan” food distribution tour from Feed The Children.

Feed The Children, working with local partner agency Granger Community Church, will provide a box of food and personal care items to recipients. The boxes are designed to help supplement a family for up to one week. The distribution will begin at Concord Mall, located at 3701 South Main Street in Elkhart and will continue in several other surrounding communities.

Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children, will be on hand, along with Granger Community Church pastor Mark Beeson and Joel Osteen, pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston. Several other dignitaries are scheduled to appear.

“We are extremely grateful to Walther Farms for this generous donation,” said Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children. “I have been touched by the devastation that these families are feeling. The city of Elkhart and surrounding cities are facing increasing unemployment that unfortunately keeps rising. With this delivery, families can walk away from this event with renewed hope knowing that someone is there to help them weather this storm.”
