Cumming is a fifth-generation Coloradan who grew up on the family farm and ranch near Julesburg. He and his family exhibited Hereford and Simmental cattle at the Stock Show for more 50 years. At 12, Cumming won the Grand Champion Steer at the Colorado State Fair. He was later awarded a Boettcher Scholarship, which he used in pursuit of his BS in Business Finance from Colorado State University before earning his JD from the University of Colorado Law School.

Cumming’s practice focuses on agricultural law as well as real estate, probate and tax litigation. He has significant litigation experience in fiduciary disputes, will and trust contests, real estate lawsuits and corporate and partnership conflicts. He has litigated cases in more than 40 counties throughout Colorado, and is admitted to Colorado State Judicial District Courts, the Colorado Supreme Court, Colorado Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court of Colorado, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. District Court of Montana
Cumming currently serves as Chair of the Executive Livestock Committee for the National Western Stock Show and is a Trustee for the Colorado FFA Foundation and the Colorado Cattlemen’s Foundation.
