Concord, Calif (PRWEB) July 30, 2014
It’s known as the sunnier side of the Bay. There are thousands of miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, and breathtaking, birds-eye views of Northern California, including the Golden Gate Bridge, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Napa Valley.
“Everyone in the Bay area knows about Mount Diablo, but the surrounding area is still a mystery to many people,” said Matt Hohenstreet, Diablo Valley board member. “We want California residents to discover what life is like in Diablo Valley.”
Music, dining and outdoor life are a major part of the culture in Diablo Valley. Historic downtown Concord’s central square, Todos Santos Plaza delights visitors and locals with a weekly farmer’s market, and enlivens the nights with live music ranging from classical to zydeco and jazz. More than 40 restaurants dot the area, ranging from elegant fare to the best sandwiches in the area, and five local craft breweries are making a name for themselves. The outdoor Concord Pavilion, with views overlooking Mount Diablo, draws tens of thousands of music lovers each year to see internationally known performers from famous legends to top contemporary artists.
For those who love the outdoors, there are thousands of miles to explore, including a day hike to the 3,949-foot summit of Mount Diablo, which offers unparalleled birds-eye vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Napa Valley. Others explore the area on horseback, traveling on remote, scenic trails.
