Decreased Fork Truck Traffic and Increasing Efficiency at Arcadia Farms Thanks to Hytrol and AEC

Jim Arthur, Arcadia VP of Operations, explained, “We have four lines that are producing at a pretty rapid pace. The design and the flow and the programming between the exit of the palletizer to the exit into the warehouse is phenomenal.”

Gaps are pulled as the finished goods travel to the second level on Hytrol conveyor. Three lines transport cartons on Hytrol’s minimum-pressure accumulation conveyor, while the fourth line uses E24EZ zero-pressure conveyor to accumulate packaged cases.

Arthur said, “Another benefit is the ability for us to use vertical space as opposed to being on the floor. We were able to hang a lot of the conveyors from the ceilings, which made use of a lot of space that we weren’t using before.”

The goal for Hytrol and the integration partner is to design, develop, and implement turnkey solutions that provide optimal results for the customer. As Arcadia has been awarded more distribution center opportunities, the company has added to its solution by working with Hytrol and the integration partner on three additional projects. The material handling system allows Arcadia Farms the ability to achieve higher throughput, while creating an optimal experience for their customers.

Hytrol’s Technology Center is the birthplace for many industry-changing innovations, such as EZLogic(R) zero-pressure accumulation and E24(TM), an energy efficient, 24-volt solution and an extensive line of advanced sortation offerings, ProSort 400 Elite series high speed shoe sorter, as well as the ProSort MRT series narrow belt sorter. Hytrol offers Pivot Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) an essential link between people, conveyor, and automation.

Hytrol is experiencing consistent growth; 2016 will be the company’s best year ever and significant plant expansion continues. Hytrol is strengthened by its Integration Partner Network with 100+ locations worldwide. Hytrol is a proud member of RILA (Retail Industry Leaders Association) MHI, CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association), along with IABSC (International Association of Baggage System).
