New Holland Fiat India Achieves Important Safety Milestone

LUGANO, SWITZERLAND — (Marketwire) — 12/20/12 — New Holland Fiat India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of CNH Global NV, has completed five million consecutive hours worked without a single lost time incident at its New Holland manufacturing base in Greater Noida, setting a new record in safety excellence as the first plant in CNH to reach such a milestone. The five million hours represent around 600 days of work over the past two years.

In recognition of this achievement, a special certificate signed by Richard Tobin, Chief Operating Officer of Fiat Industrial and CEO and President of CNH, and Franco Fusignani, New Holland Agriculture Brand Leader and Fiat Industrial COO of the Asia Pacific region, was presented today during an official ceremony held at the Greater Noida facility that was attended by all employees.

New Holland Fiat India’s Greater Noida facility boasts the highest quality standards in the country’s tractor industry and is among the best in the world for worker safety and environmental protection practices. The plant’s participation in CNH’s World Class Manufacturing program is an important factor in the facility’s high safety standards. Launched in 2009, it actively involves all employees in eliminating risks in the workplace through clearly defined metrics, regular audits and a systematic approach to identifying potential accidents. With more than 1,300 employees and featuring a number of advanced manufacturing technologies, New Holland Fiat India produces tractors up to 75 hp, engines, transmissions, axles and PTOs, and fully controls all of its production processes and components. It exports products and components worldwide, with approximately 25% of its tractors sold in about 50 countries, primarily in Africa, the Middle East and North America.
